WEEK 52
This past Tuesday Sister Hsiao and I dropped by Sam Li's home hoping to meet with his mom, Lu mama, again. When we dropped by, and Lu mama answered the door. Sam Li happened to be home too! So we went into their home and taugh mother and son the Plan of Salvation. Sam asked us how do we know if these things are true, and if Jesus Christ is real. We taught them how to pray. And of course we shared with them Moroni 10:4-5 "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things"
There is power in prayer and especially in sincere and specific prayers. I'm glad we got to meet with Sam and Lu mama last Tuesday. It's gonna be hard to meet with them since Sam works 2 jobs and his wife works too, and their 2 young children attend school. But I know this family is precious in the Lord's sight and they have been prepared to receive this gospel through Sam's now deceased father.
Also this past Thursday we had interviews with the mission president. This time, as an annual thing, President and Sister Beck came to our apartment to interview us. This is when they get to inspect our apartments and see the living conditions of their dear missionaries. Well, they were delighted to see the CLEANEST apartment in this mission! NO JOKE. Our apartment is one of the newest and has never had Elders living in it before. Also, it has been known as the "Chinese apartment" because most of the Sisters serving in the Chinese branch will be assigned to live in this apartment. As far as reputation goes, Chinese and Asian missionaries are known to be pretty clean and tidy tenants on the mission =) Um..most of the time anyway..hehe...well, it seems that Asians clean more often..we've just been raised this way...thanks mom =) That's just a general statement, but anyway, the point is that we are glad to live in this apartment and hope to keep it clean as long as we live here! Oh, so yeah, the best part about this special visit from president and Sister Beck is that we got to cook them lunch and ate with them at our apartment. It was a real Asian meal with soup and all.mmMMmmm...so good!
Yup, that sums up part of a wonderfulmous week! I can't wait for Chinese New Year to come! We get to spend it in Chinese branch too! So awesome1 I haven't realy celebrated CNY for the past 4 years! So i'm excited to be able to make dumplings, eat "steamboat or huo3guo1" and go "bai4 nian2" to some members and investigators.
It's like Christmas again... =) Gong Xi Fa Cai!
